About Forgotten Ancestors - We all have those ancestors on our tree that we pay little or no attention to, those that hang from the outlying branches, the ones I call the ‘forgotten ancestors’.
I can somehow feel the love and appreciation from them when I share the story of a "forgotten ancestor". Knowing you are remembered has its own kind of magic.💫
I very much agree with you, Paul, and I try to pay attention to the forgotten children, and the uncles and aunts who never had a family of their own. I too have a Horatio Nelson in my family, who was one of those unmarried uncles. He was born in 1805, which explains his name!

Thanks Tammy I couldn’t agree more

He appears in an early chapter of my Cornish book, when the family is still in the Falmouth area.
Have you told his story yet Alison?
I agree with you, Paul. Just because death was more common didn’t mean our ancestors grieved less.
