The people of London lay blissfully asleep in their beds, they had no idea of the disaster looming just hours away. In the early morning of a cold and rainy January day in 1928, the River Thames burst its banks, unleashing widespread destruction. The sudden flood claimed the lives of fourteen people and left approximately 5,000 more homeless. Of the fourteen that tragically drowned that night were four sisters.
